Frequently asked questions

Yes, we at Aubrey’s Heart Therapy Services specialize in treating a variety of disorders across the lifespan. Let us match you with one of our therapists today to treat your or your child’s speech-language or feeding needs.

First, you schedule an appointment by calling or filling out a form submission on our Contact page online.

Next, go to our Patients page and download the forms that apply to you. Fill these out and return them to us prior to your scheduled appointment.

After we receive your forms, we will tailor an evaluation session fit for your specific areas of need to examine strengths and areas of difficulty. This may include an interview with you or your caregiver, looking inside of your mouth for abnormalities, having you answer various questions by looking at photos or reading aloud, and more.

Finally, we will take all of the data you provided during your evaluation session and intake paperwork, and we will create a treatment plan tailored to meet your areas of need if applicable. We will schedule your weekly or monthly treatment sessions with your schedule in mind, and treatment will begin after that.

First, we will collect your intake paperwork that you can download and fill out from our website here.

Next, we will have you bring 3 preferred foods and 3 non-preferred foods to your first appointment to try to eat in front of the evaluating clinician. She may have a look inside of the patient’s mouth and will ask several questions about the problem, when it first began, ways you have tried to fix the issue yourself, and more.

After the evaluation meeting, your dedicated clinician will write a full report. She will include what was observed during clinical trials of food eaten during the evaluation session and information obtained during parent or patient interviews.

Finally, based on certain criteria if you or your loved one have a feeding/swallowing disorder, the SLP will work with you to schedule feeding/swallowing treatment sessions weekly or monthly to help remediate the feeding difficulties.

Yes! We are proud to offer telehealth services for our patients and their families. Not only is this more convenient for many patients and their families who may have trouble traveling to a clinic, but it is also helpful in preventing the spread of harmful diseases and other illnesses for patients and their families who may be immunocompromised.
